Privacy Policy
Tellora ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use the Tellora mobile application and website at tellora.work.
Tellora is an AI-powered interview coaching app. Because your practice answers are processed by third-party AI services, this policy describes that processing in detail. Tellora also offers optional paid subscriptions and in-app purchases through Apple. For product rules, billing, and cancellation, see our Terms of Service.
Summary
- Tellora does not sell your personal information or use it for cross-app tracking.
- Tellora does not require an account. Preferences and your latest practice result are stored locally on your device.
- When you unlock and submit a practice answer for AI feedback, your audio is sent to our Tellora API (
api.tellora.work) for transcription and AI feedback. We do not ask you to enter API keys in the app. - Our API uses third-party AI providers — Tencent Cloud (speech-to-text transcription) and DeepSeek (AI feedback generation) — to process your answer. During onboarding and before each AI submission, the app shows an in-app disclosure listing what data is sent and asks for your permission.
- Purchases are processed by Apple. Tellora does not receive your full payment card number, Apple ID password, or other sensitive payment credentials.
- AI-generated feedback may be inaccurate or incomplete. It is for learning purposes only. See our Terms of Service for full disclaimers.
Information we collect
- Preferences and onboarding choices — such as your preparation goal, target role, English level, app language, and feedback language. Stored locally on your device.
- Audio recordings — interview answers you record in the app. Recordings are saved temporarily on your device while you practice and are sent to our API when you unlock and agree to generate AI feedback.
- User content — transcripts of your answers, AI feedback (scores, summaries, suggested answers), and your most recent practice result. Stored locally on your device after processing.
- Product interaction data — such as notification preference and whether onboarding is complete. Stored locally on your device.
- Purchase and entitlement data — such as whether you have an active Tellora Pro subscription, Interview Pack session credits remaining, and related restore status. This information is provided through Apple's In-App Purchase / StoreKit frameworks and may also be cached locally on your device so the app can unlock paid features.
Tellora does not require you to create an account. We do not intentionally collect your name, email address, or phone number through the app unless you contact us for support.
Purchases and Apple
Optional paid products (Annual Pro, Monthly Pro, and Interview Pack) are sold as Apple In-App Purchases. Apple processes payment and maintains your App Store purchase records associated with your Apple ID.
- What Apple processes — payment method, billing address as held by Apple, purchase history, subscription status, and related commerce data under Apple's policies.
- What Tellora receives — purchase receipts / transaction identifiers and entitlement status needed to unlock features (for example, active subscription or remaining pack credits). We do not receive your full card number or Apple ID password.
- How we use it — solely to provide paid features, restore eligible purchases, prevent unauthorized access, and support customer issues related to unlocking content.
For more information about how Apple handles purchase data, see Apple's Privacy Policy. Subscription terms, trials, renewal, and cancellation are described in our Terms of Service.
How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Record and transcribe your spoken interview answers
- Generate personalized AI feedback and coaching suggestions
- Remember your preferences and practice settings
- Unlock and manage paid features you purchased through Apple
- Respond to support requests you send us
We do not use your practice content to train our own models, build advertising profiles, or sell datasets to third parties.
AI processing and your consent
Tellora sends data to third-party AI processors only when you choose to unlock and generate feedback. We ask for your permission in two places:
- During onboarding — after you set your coaching preferences, the app presents an "AI feedback disclosure" screen. It lists what data is sent, which third parties receive it, and why. You must acknowledge that disclosure before continuing.
- Before each AI report generation — when you agree to generate a full report after unlocking, the disclosure appears again. You may agree to proceed or cancel to keep your recording on your device without sending it for processing.
If you do not agree, no audio or transcript is sent to our API or third-party AI providers for that submission. You can still browse questions and record locally until you unlock and consent.
By agreeing in the app, you consent to Tellora sharing the listed data with our API and the third-party providers named in this policy for the purpose of generating feedback for that answer. Your agreement to these processing terms is separate from, and in addition to, your acceptance of our Terms of Service.
How processing works
When you generate feedback, the app sends your audio (encoded securely over HTTPS) and practice context (such as the interview question and your coaching preferences) to our Tellora API, hosted on Cloudflare Workers at api.tellora.work.
Our API forwards the audio to Tencent Cloud for automatic speech recognition, then sends the transcript and context to DeepSeek to generate feedback. The app receives the transcript and feedback and stores your latest result on your device.
We design this flow to send only the minimum data needed to provide the feature. You do not need to create accounts with Tencent Cloud or DeepSeek to use Tellora.
Third-party AI services
Tellora is an AI coaching app. When you submit an answer for feedback, your audio and/or transcript may be processed by:
- Cloudflare — hosts our API infrastructure at
api.tellora.work. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. - Tencent Cloud — receives your audio recording and returns a text transcript using automatic speech recognition (ASR). See Tencent Cloud's Privacy Policy.
- DeepSeek — receives your transcript and practice context (question, role, goal, English level, feedback language) and returns AI-generated scores, summaries, and suggested answers. See DeepSeek's Privacy Policy.
- Apple — processes In-App Purchases and subscription billing. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. We select providers to deliver transcription, feedback, and payment functionality and configure our systems to transmit only the data required for each request. We do not sell your personal information.
We do not control how third-party providers retain or use data beyond what is described in their policies. If you have concerns about a specific provider, you may decline AI submission in the app or contact us at [email protected].
AI-generated content notice
Transcripts, scores, feedback summaries, and suggested answers produced by Tellora are generated automatically using AI. They may contain transcription errors, incorrect scoring, outdated advice, or content that does not fit your specific situation, employer, or jurisdiction.
AI output is intended to help you practice English interview answers. It is not a substitute for advice from a qualified career coach, attorney, immigration adviser, or employer representative. You are responsible for reviewing any feedback before relying on it.
For complete disclaimers, limitations of liability, and acceptable use rules related to AI-generated content, see our Terms of Service.
Data storage and retention
- On your device — preferences, your latest feedback result, onboarding state, and cached purchase entitlements (such as subscription active status or remaining Interview Pack credits) are stored using iOS local storage (including UserDefaults).
- Temporary audio files — recordings are kept in the app's temporary storage while you practice and may be deleted when you reset a session or remove the app.
- Tellora API — audio and transcripts are processed to generate feedback. We do not operate user accounts and do not intentionally maintain a long-term library of your recordings on our servers. Processing is transient and tied to each request.
- Apple purchase records — retained by Apple according to Apple's policies and your Apple ID account.
- Third-party AI retention — retention by Cloudflare, Tencent Cloud, or DeepSeek is governed by their policies and our agreements with them.
Tracking
Tellora does not use your data for cross-app tracking or advertising. We do not request App Tracking Transparency permission because we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Your choices
- Reset onboarding in Settings to clear coaching preferences
- Disable notifications in Settings or iOS System Settings
- Manage or cancel App Store subscriptions in iOS Settings under Apple ID → Subscriptions
- Use Restore Purchases in the app to restore eligible subscription status on your Apple ID
- Delete the app to remove locally stored preferences, feedback history, temporary recordings, and locally cached entitlements from your device (this does not cancel Apple subscriptions by itself)
- Decline the AI disclosure if you do not want your audio sent to our API and third-party processors for that answer
Children
Tellora is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
International users
Tellora is designed for users preparing for English job interviews, including users outside North America. Your audio and transcripts may be processed in countries where our infrastructure and AI providers operate (which may include the United States, Singapore, and the People's Republic of China). Purchase processing by Apple may also involve transfers under Apple's infrastructure. By using Tellora and agreeing to submit answers for AI processing, you understand that your data may be transferred and processed accordingly.
Relationship to Terms of Service
This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how third-party AI and payment services process it. Our Terms of Service explain the rules for using Tellora, including subscriptions, AI accuracy disclaimers, prohibited uses, and limitations of liability. Both documents apply when you use Tellora.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Tellora after changes means you accept the updated policy.
